ABOUT THIS SITE
I want to have a site with a lot of articles about fly fishing. I want to add to them all the time like a monthly magazine. I want to save all the old ones too so the information will build up over time. I don't want to charge readers anything or to send them email or have them give me any information about themselves. I want the articles to be high quality. I would like to have articles link to the author's business if they have one. I would like this site to support itself by placing ADS from companies where I think I got good deals.
I have had a passion for fishing ever since I was a kid. I caught my first trout on an Oil Pack Egg on a bamboo fly rod at the Meeks Creek Campground Bridge at Lake Tahoe when I was around 6. Fishing is why I lived in Trinidad, California; Eureka, CA and Anchorage, Alaska. It is a passion that has stayed with me although dormant from 1979 to 2003. Now it is back with a vengeance and mostly about fly fishing.
Both a woman novice I met recently and an expert fly fisher in Sweden expressed to me that they enjoy this sport so much that they don't even need to put a fly in the water all day to feel a spiritual fulfillment. I think I am somewhere on the same path. It's not just about beautiful scenery either. Some of the canals, ponds and reservoirs where we fish are just industrial eyesores and yet you can get a certain enjoyment that probably makes little sense to most people. Jay Capachi
